Momentum continues to grow for the LOND Clinical Tool and “Why Behind Your Weakness” campaign with a new RARECast episode focused on improving understanding of late‑onset neuromuscular diseases (LONDs).

RareCast is a Global Genes podcast that focuses on the intersection of rare disease with business, science, and policy. The episode brings together our own LONDC Steering Committee member and Executive Director of the Myasthenia Gravis Association, Allison Foss, and one of the LONDC’s clinical advisors, Dr. John Morren of the Cleveland Clinic and AANEM and ANF Board Member. Together they shed light on the signs of unexplained weakness and the challenges many individuals face on the journey to diagnosing a LOND.

“We have one common denominator, and that’s unexplained weakness.”– Allison Foss

The discussion explores common signs and symptoms of LONDs, the impact of delayed diagnosis, and how the Why Behind Your Weakness campaign is working to improve awareness and support earlier recognition.
